Sorbet: Recipe adapted from Martha Stewart Living, June 2002. Notes: I added peppercorns and cardamom pods to the sugar syrup, and ground cardamom, black pepper and a bit of shiraz to the base. Flavours were detectable but subtle.
Pie: Recipe from The Dessert Bible, by Christopher Kimball. Notes: Made with organic shortening from Earth Balance. The Crisco 0 Grams Trans Fat shortening is not available in Canada yet. Orange zest pairs well with strawberry filling.
Semifreddo: Recipe from The Secrets of Baking, by Sherry Yard. Notes: Not churned, so texture is a bit granular but fluffy at the same time. Rich taste from mascarpone.
