Ultimate Turtle Brownies

Notes: Another time-consuming but ultimately satisfying recipe from CI. I'm glad they provided a target temperature for the molten sugar, I often overcook caramel. It thickens considerably after cooling, but a brief zap in the microwave makes it pourable again. I needed almost 20 extra baking minutes for the brownies as I used a slightly smaller pan (8") which made them a little overdone on the edges. These brownies are true to their name, combining pecans and caramel with a deeply chocolate base reminiscent of the candy.
